IntroductionMultiple sclerosis is an auto-immune disease. What this means is that a substance or microbe gets in a location of the body that the immune system cannot reach. The immune system, not being all that bright, attacks the area around the substance (hoping to kill or destroy the substance), but in the process, may do far more damage than the substance itself is causing. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease which can be caused by microbes or chemicals which get in the bones or ligaments, etc. In the attempt to destroy the microbes or chemicals, the immune system creates massive inflammation and swelling. Multiple sclerosis is also an autoimmune disease. It is also caused by microbes or chemicals. However, these microbes or chemicals are in the brain, apparently inside the myelin sheaths of nerve cells. Exactly how much of the damage to the myelin sheaths is caused by the immune system attacking the microbes or chemicals or is caused by the microbes or chemicals themselves, is not fully understood. The point is that the autoimmune disease called "multiple sclerosis" is caused by two very distinct invaders. One cause of multiple sclerosis is heavy metals; usually mercury from fish, dental amalgam or other sources. However, other heavy metals and even some chemicals can cause M.S. The second cause of multiple sclerosis is a special type of CWD (Cell Wall Deficient) bacteria. This bacteria gets inside the myelin sheath. The two causes are vastly, vastly different and so are the two treatments. The treatment for the heavy metal version of M.S. involves chelation tactics, especially chelation which gets past the blood brain barrier (BBB). The treatment for the microbial version of M.S. involves killing the microbes (the microbe is not in the bloodstream, thus electromedicine is required) and rebuilding the myelin sheath. In alternative medicine, "electromedicine" is very, very low amperage electrical currents, electromagnetic waves or magnetic pulses. The first thing that must be done with an M.S. patient is try to determine which cause applies to the M.S. case!! This involves an analysis of whether the person has been exposed to heavy metals or other chemicals. For example: has the person handled heavy metals (e.g. in a dental office); does the person have an abnormally high number of "silver" fillings (which are actually about 50% mercury filling); has the person been exposed to drinking water contaminated with chemicals; has the person eaten a lot of fish (all fish have some mercury in them); did the person have their mercury fillings removed by an unqualified dentist, etc. etc. The person likely has the bacterial form of M.S. if they have Lyme Disease or have had any other type of bacterial infection. A third cause of multiple sclerosis might be "bad fats." These are things like trans-fatty acids. Trans-fatty acids stick to cell walls and may be a cause of multiple sclerosis. Another molecule that may cause multiple sclerosis is constantly eating the same food that contains other types of bad fats. An example would be meat or peanut butter. People who eat a lot of peanut butter can have several health problems.
URGENT WARNING #1If you are not certain what caused the M.S. then assume the cause is mercury. There is a very good reason for assuming MS is caused by mercury. If you assume it is mercury, but in reality it is caused by microbes, there is no harm done because the treatment of mercury (which is the removal of dental amalgam and chelation therapy) will do you no harm and in fact will help in other ways. If the chelation doesn't work, then assume it is caused by microbes. On the other hand, if you assume it is microbes, but in reality it is caused by mercury, then the electromedicine used to kill the microbes may release mercury vapors into the brain and make the situation much worse because even more mercury will be released into the brain prior to treatment. To summarize, if you start with chelation, and you are wrong, you have done some good. But if you start with electromedicine, and you are wrong, you could make things worse.

About Multiple Sclerosis - Cause #1 - Heavy MetalsSeveral countries or states have very high rates of M.S. compared to other countries and states. The countries are Norway and Japan and the state is Alaska. What do these three locations have in common? They have an abnormally high rate of ocean fish eaters. This isolates one cause of M.S. - mercury. There are other sources of mercury than fish, but this is one of the causes of M.S. However, any person in any country can have Multiple Sclerosis due to mercury or other heavy metals. Just about everyone has dental amalgam. Dental amalgam is a source of mercury and has caused Multiple Sclerosis in many, many people. Dentists and their assistants may handle enough mercury to get Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Hal Huggins, perhaps the world's foremost expert in biological dentistry, has treated more than a thousand MS patients. In every case he found evidence of mercury. In his view, the mercury changes the way the immune system "looks" at cells (in this case the myelin sheath). The mercury "tags" the cell so that the immune system sees the cells as an invader and thus the immune system attacks the cells.

Choosing a DentistIT IS ESSENTIAL TO USE A COMPETENT BIOLOGICAL DENTIST OR HOLISTIC DENTIST when removing dental amalgam from your mouth. Many people have developed multiple sclerosis because their dental amalgams were not properly removed!!! True biological or holistic dentists will always use a "rubber dam" and have a strong vaccum suction device to make sure the mercury toxins released by the drill do not enter the bloodstream
Mercury and Other Heavy Metals - ChelationMercury is not the only "heavy metal" which can cause Multiple Sclerosis. In fact, there are several heavy metals which can cause Multiple Sclerosis. The treatment for Multiple Sclerosis caused by dental fillings is to have them removed by a qualified dentist. The removal of heavy metals in other situations is called: chelation therapy. It is beyond the scope of this article to talk about chelation therapy, but there are several key products which can "chelate" heavy metals. These include chlorella, EDTA, Vitamin C (not as good a chelator as the others), and several others. There is one thing every person doing chelation needs to be warned about: when you chelate essential minerals from the body (in your attempt to chelate bad things), which some chelating items will do, it can cause instant death. Thus, you need to be very, very careful about maintaining key minerals in the body (especially calcium) so that the body can continue to function during chelation therapy. Really, aside from simple chelation it is always safest to use a qualified medical professional who is experienced in heavy metal chelation. It is recommended you buy the book: "My Recovery Protocol" by Ken Presner. Ken also has two other inexpensive books specific to chelation. Use a search engine to find his books since the three books may not be on Amazon. Also note that chelation can be dangerous for other reasons, so be sure to read authoritative books on chelation before attempting it. Certainly, at least 20 pills of chlorella a day can be taken immediately. It is also wise to use several drops of liquid cilantro a half-hour after taking the chlorella.
About Multiple Sclerosis - Cause #2 - Dental InfectionIt is also possible that root canals and other tooth extractions can cause perpetual infections which occur during the procedure. These infections can create a perpetual stream of microbes originating from the jawbone area. This perpetual stream of microbes creates a perpetual autoimmune disease which destroys the myelin sheath (the immune system destroys the myelin sheath) as the immune system is trying to kill these microbes. Dr. Huggins is also the expert in detecting perpetual infections in the mouth. Fortunately, he has trained several others to use the techniques which he uses. While it is always best to use a qualified dentist, some people cannot afford such dentists because insurance will not pay for them. Electromedicine is an option for these people. Electromedicine will be discussed below, but before using electromedicine, it is best to have the mercury removed by a biological denstist to prevent the flow of electrical current from releasing mercury vapors in the body. Obviously, when using electromedicine, and if you still have mercury in your teeth, daily chelation is required to remove the mercury from your bloodstream.
About Multiple Sclerosis - Cause #3 - A Special BacteriaThe next cause of M.S. is the Borrelia spirochete (i.e. treponemes) bacteria, which is a "cell wall deficient" bacteria. This may be the same microbe mentioned above in the discusson of dental infections. See the book: Stealth Pathogens by Lida Mattman to see the evidence for Borreli causing M.S. While only a couple of the pages actually talk about M.S., the entire book is a wealth of information on the type of bacteria which causes M.S. and the key chapter (which includes a discussion of M.S.) has a wealth of references.
Curing Multiple Sclerosis caused by spirochete bacteria (which is a "cell wall deficient" bacteria) actually involves three key things: To maximize your chances of curing your Multiple Sclerosis, buy the book: Wellness Secrets For Life, by A. True Ott, PhD. The book has a list of minerals that can be used to repair damaged myelin sheath. The book: The China Study has a chapter on autoimmune diseases, which includes a section on Multiple Sclerosis. The reputation of this book is so absolutely superb it would be worth buying the book for this one section (e.g. there was an interesting study they mention on saturated fats). It also has a more general section on all autoimmune diseases. In The China Study there was a very high correlation between milk and the occurrence of M.S. This could have been because of the microbes in the milk in China. Also, I doubt China has the level of dental amalgam as in the U.S. Removing root canal teeth will not have as much of an affect on M.S. as removing the heavy metals, but in the long run it may be a good idea. Root canals are a safe-haven for microbes and can cause a recurrance of any disease because some of the target microbes are able to safely "hide" inside the root canals. The same biological dentist who removes mercury from your teeth is also the best person to use to remove the root canals.
Using Electromedicine To Kill the BacteriaBecause the bacteria which causes M.S. does not exist in the bloodstream, but rather exists in the brain inside the myelin sheath, the only way to kill these bacteria is with electromedicine.

About Multiple Sclerosis - Cause #4 - Bad FatsIn this scenario eating large amounts of bad fats, such as trans-fatty acids (e.g. margarine, peanut butter, canola oil, etc.), essentially coat many of the brain cells and cause them to fail to function properly. High levels of peanut butter, for example, have been shown to cause scleroderma, which is another brain disorder. The only solution to this problem is to eat good fats and other products that clean off the bad fats from the cells. While eating good fats will do that, it takes too long.

Rebuilding the Myelin SheathThe best way to rebuild the myelin sheaths is by using a combination of minerals and oils. The best mineral expert I have seen, on the subject of rebuilding the myelin sheath, is Dr. True Ott, PhD of Mother Earth minerals. His book: Wellness Secrets For Life - An Owner's Manual For The Human Body has the best list of minerals for rebuilding the myelin sheath on page 123. In terms of oils, here are some comments.
The myelin sheath is made up of mostly essential fatty acids. Part of the treatment should be high levels of omega 3 - DHA and EFA. There are also many herbs that will help detoxify the liver. Essiac Tea is just one example: M.S. patients are always short of minerals, especially magnesium and potassium. Dr. Mercola noted that virtually every R.A. and M.S. patient had very low levels of Vitamin D. Their levels were 10 to 20, but should be at 50 to 55. He recommended sunlight as the source of Vitamin D. Whether this is a symptom or a cause is unknown.
